Paul Groom, also known for a number of years as Paul Adams-Groom, has enjoyed a nearly 30 year career in art and is known for his powerful and realistic depictions of nature. Many of the trees he paints are recognisable to local people who also appreciate that each tree is individual and has stood the test of time despite an ever changing world around them. Some trees are hundreds of years old and are only now beginning to succumb to age, and Paul endeavours to capture them like we would a photograph of our loved one.

With an occasional foray into abstract art along the way, Paul has exhibited in many galleries and some of his work in permanent public space https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/slumber-i-53829

He has also enjoyed much success with his painted wood carvings which are loved by many school children and villagers around the country.

At present, Paul feels a longing to get back to his trees. Nothing fills him with more joy and enthusiasm than spending time in the wonderful creation around him and capturing just a portion of its beauty.
